The Blurred Line

Photographer Rebecca McCarthy uses the untouched female figure to illustrate our obsession with everything new and young.

I aim to explore society’s obsession with everything new and young. My photography deals with just the opposite, an up close and personal view of what it means to get old. In an era where everything we see in advertising is Photoshopped to distort the viewer’s perception of what it means to age, I wanted to show an honest view of the reality. In a world where plastic surgery for many is now the norm, is the untouched female figure still beautiful?
