Kathleen Meaney — Little Bird

Posted on July 31, 2012

Kathleen Meaney uses watercolours, ink and manual processes to create illustrations for children’s books.

I am an illustrator with a particular interest in children’s picture books. These images are a selection of characters and spreads taken from the picture book I wrote and illustrated for my major Degree Show project, called ‘Little Bird’. Animals have always fascinated me so the majority of my work does feature animals. My usual materials are watercolours and ink but I also frequently work with layers both through the manual process of screenprint and by digitally layering cut-out textures. More of my drawings and characters can be found on my website: www.kathleenmeaney.com

Kathleen Meaney studied a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (Illustration) at Edinburgh College of Art.
