E. Bennett Jones — Selected Works

Posted on August 2, 2012

E. Bennett Jones is influenced by the conventions of science when crafting her sculptures.

The conventions and ideals of science greatly influence my practice. It is through the language of reason that I fabricate evidence and illustrate facts to classify, quantify and prove the non-existent. Identity, loss and truth, all ideals that feel nearly tangible, are some of the major themes of my work.
These two pieces both address these issues. They both also feature meticulous and repetitious techniques that parody the ideals of the scientific method.
