Claire Borrello — The Banksia Collection

Posted on January 15, 2013

Claire Borrello creates 3d work inspired by the Banksia leaf.

This is part of my first semester’s work of 3D design. Our brief was to create a piece (product/furniture/jewellery) that was inspired by nature. After exploring the iconic Kings Park in Perth, it was the Banksia leaf that intrigued me the most. I was inspired by its simplistic and unique form that makes it a distinct and interesting leaf. The main purpose of this collection was to create a range of products that reflected the qualities of the banksia leaf as well as a means to bring nature back into our lives.

Claire Borrello studies 3D design (Product, Jewellery and Furniture) at Curtin University of Technology.
