Amy Maplestone — SOLO: One Family. Their Story.

Posted on October 2, 2013

Amy Maplestone reflects on four generations through the artistry of a recipe book.

Embodying the emotional devotion and wholehearted artistry of their makers, the family recipe book collectively houses personal and unique experiences with food. A careful meld of hidden chapters, contrasting dates and varying styles of handwriting allow each individual recipe to express it’s own ‘voice’. Reflecting four generations of women, this personal publication is used as a forum to represent: history, memory, food experiences and social gatherings. These cherished family recipes evoke a sense of nostalgia through the intrinsic values discretely embedded within.
