Amanda Côté — Selected Works

Posted on August 3, 2012

Amanda Côté works in abstraction, exploring and breaking conventions of colour and weight.

Amanda Côté is an American artist. Several years ago she shifted her concentration to abstraction, combining cool and warm palettes with small interruptions of bright colors. There is a deeper need to complete pieces that aren’t conventionally beautiful or uniform. In her paintings, she experiments with weightlessness in opposition to heavy forms pulled by gravity and the significance of hard edge compared to soft brush strokes.

Amanda Côté is studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts.
